Amazon.com’s Comic Strip Superstar Contest

The women’s show took place on the last weekend in October 2009 and was a great success. In one hour, 100 people walked away with a signed copy of “Never Underestimate the Power of a Bouquet of Dandelions.” I had the pleasure of meeting so many new people. I signed a book for the wife of Eric Martsolf from NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” and I even had the opportunity to have a chat with Amy Roloff from TLC’s “Little People, Big World.”

17th Annual Portland Women’s Show

Moses Lake Art Museum Gallery Exhibition

Suburban Sarah was featured as part of a collaborative exhibit with Cartoonists Northwest this past fall. Exhibition dates were October 16th - November 14th, 2009 at the Moses Lake Art Museum in Moses Lake, Washington. “Never Underestimate the Power of a Bouquet of Dandelions” book is still available in the museum gift shop.

Suburban Sarah appeared in newsprint for the first time in 2009 in The Beacon, North Plains, Oregon and in The Kirkland Reporter in Kirkland, Washington. Click to view one of the cartoons that appeared this past year.

San Juan Island Summer Arts Fair - June 16th - 17th, 2011

Come on out to the fundraiser at Washington Cathedral, 12300 Woodinville-Redmond Rd. NE in Redmond, WA, where Jodie will be selling her book at the special price of $10.00 each. 100% of the proceeds going to help the children of the AFE School in the Tegucigalpa, Honduras. May 20th 5-9 p.m.

2011 4th Place Finalist for Cartoonist Studio Contest

Suburban Sarah Comics was the only comic strip written and drawn by a female cartoonist to make it to the Final 10 in the Cartoonist Studio Contest sponsored by Creators Syndicate. Jodie received thousands of votes and finished in fourth place in this global contest.
